A series of images about urban development in Shanghai, showing the moment in between. The community is gone, most people have left their homes to make way for demolition, some people still remain in the houses before the machines arrive to start digging and hammering. The photos show the demolition areas at night, the surrounding lights of office towers and apartment blocks casting a surreal atmosphere on the ruins. A frozen moment in a suspended state between old, long grown communities and newly build, fast growing highrise development. Between the piles of bricks some lights in half torn down houses indicate life resisting the inevitable change.
